DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN CASABLANCA - RABAT
Arrival at Casablanca airport. Reception by our staff. Visit of the Hassan II mosque, the most famous in the kingdom of Morocco. Next, we will head to Rabat to visit the city's best known monuments. The visit begins in the precincts where the Royal Palace, "Dar el Makhzen" is located. Later, the Kasbah of the Oudaias will be visited. Beautiful panoramic view of the Bou Regreg estuary from the platform of the old lighthouse. Then we will go to the Mausoleum of Mohamed V. Then the transfer to the hotel will take place. DAY 2: RABAT - CHAOUEN
After breakfast we will head to the blue city of Chefchaouen which we will discover in the company of a local guide to make a complete visit of this charming mountain city. We will walk through its narrow streets and between its old houses painted in deep blue. We will also contemplate its beautiful panoramic views. Arrival at the hotel. Bed and breakfast in a charming riad.
DAY 3: CHAOUEN - VOLUBILIS - MEKNEZ - FEZ
We leave for Fez, where we will border the forests of the Rif until we reach the Roman ruins of the city of Volubilis, We will visit the ruins with an “optional” local guide and then continue towards Meknés, a city that reached its peak thanks to the Sultan Mulay Ismail. Visit of its mausoleum and the famous Bab Mansour gate. After the visit we will go to our destination Fez. Arrival in Fez. Free time and night in a charming riad.
DAY 4: FEZ - FEZ
Free day in Fez, guided tour highly recommended by the characteristics of the city. When you enter the streets of its medina (old city) you will feel that time goes back: the union structure is still present at work, the narrowness of its streets does not allow other means of transport than donkeys and a constant tingling of people moves through the labyrinthine streets in the middle of which you will be surprised by neighborhoods such as the Andalusian and magnificent mosques and Koranic schools. Fez has always been associated with study and religiosity, and remains the spiritual capital of Morocco. Interesting are also the streets of Fez-Jdid, where the royal palace, the mellah (Jewish quarter) and the oldest mosque in Fez are located. Night in the riad.
DAY 5: FEZ - IFRANE - AZROU - MIDELT:
We will leave Fez towards Midelt crossing the Middle Atlas where the city of Ifrane is located, called the “Moroccan Switzerland” due to the architectural style of this city, since this city was founded by the French in the 20s. We will pass through the national park known for its cedar forests where the famous berber monkeys are found. We arrived at Midelt. Night in a charming riad.
DAY 6: MIDELT - VALLE DEL ZIZ - ERFOUD - MERZOUGA
Departure to Errachidia and the green and great Ziz Valley, with its large palm grove, until you reach Erfoud, the city of fossils, where you can visit the quarries from where they are extracted and then work and obtain multiple objects. We will pass through Rissani, to finally reach the fine sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Transfer to the hotel located at the foot of the dunes, Afternoon free to stroll through the Berber village or through the dunes.
DAY 7: MERZOUGA - KHAMLIA - RISSANI - DESERT ERG CHEBBI
Breakfast and departure to the town of Khamlia, a village originally from Mali, where you can relax with a tea while enjoying a small concert of Gnawa music. Its inhabitants are descendants of former caravan slaves who came from southern Africa and settled in the area and made Gnawa music an art and way of life. If you make the route in 4 × 4, we will leave in 4 × 4 to surround the dunes of the Erg Chebbi, an expanse of sand desert where the Great Dune of Morocco is located, of more than 250 meters of altitude, connecting by track with part of the route followed by the old Paris-Dakar, with the mountains that border Algeria in the background. Stop at the Tissardmin oasis and continue to a nomadic settlement where we will know some secrets of his life and customs. Later stop at a panoramic point where you can contemplate the Erg Chebbi together. Then we will go to Rissani, where we will visit its interesting African souk, the largest in the region and where nomads and inhabitants of the surrounding villages come to sell their products and buy the goods they need. Return to the hotel and in the afternoon the dromedaries await us to enter the desert while the sun sets until we reach the jaimas camp in the middle of the desert of high dunes, where we will spend the night. Dinner and night in a jaima under the stars of the desert.
DAY 8: MERZOUGA - OUZINA
After breakfast, we will go further south, in search of the incomparable Ouzina Valley, accessible only through tracks, a place anchored in the past and away from the rooms.
DAY 9: OUZINA - MAHARCH STRAIGHT - VALLE DEL DRAA
Today it is early to enjoy the sunrise at the top of the great dune. Later we will go back to the hotel, where we can take a shower. After breakfast we will resume our journey, we will leave Ouzina behind in the direction of the Maharch Strait, crossing sand rivers, Berber villages, endless hamadas ..., to the city of Alnif. We will cross the mountain range of Jebel Kem Kem until we reach the Draa Valley, where we will enjoy a unique experience, sleep in an authentic 19th-century Ksaar, Tamnougalte. The Tamnougalt people are an authentic Ksar “Castle of Earth and mud” rehabilitated within a recovery plan of the Ksaar and Kasbah that mark southern Morocco, on the well-known “route of 1000 kasbahs”. After occupying our rooms we can take a walk inside its streets that show us the history and way of life of the Berber tribes, an experience that will allow us to discover the way of life, organization and culture of the Berber tribes and familiarize ourselves with this type of construction. DAY 10: VALLE DEL DRAA - GARGANTAS DEL TODRA - VALLE DEL DADES
Departure from Zagora in the morning after breakfast to cross the Draa Valley. We will continue towards the Todra Gorges, where we will walk among its palm trees and then we will leave towards other deeper gorges, those of the Dades Valley. Night at hotel
DAY 11: DADES VALLEY - OUARZAZATE - AIT BEN HADDOU
Departure to Ouarzazate. We will visit the High Atlas mountains, where we will visit the Kasbah of Telouet, palace of the "Lord of the Atlas". When we descend from the Atlas we will enter the territory of the desert Berbers. We will visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and famous for being the scene of cinematographic blockbusters such as the Oscar-winning "Lawrence of Arabia", "The Protective Sky" or "Babel". Arrival in Ouarzazate, also called the Hollywood of Morocco. Night in a charming riad.
DAY 12: AIT BEN HADDOU - MOUNTAINS OF THE HIGH ATLAS - ESSAOUIRA
After breakfast, we will follow the road through the Tichka harbor. We will cross Marrakech to get closer to the Atlantic coast where Essaouira, the Pearl of the Atlantic. Upon our arrival, in the afternoon, they will leave us at the Riad and we can watch the sunset from the walls, an experience that you can not miss. At night, in one of its many restaurants, we can taste the excellent fish that is extracted from its coasts and take a night walk through this quiet and picturesque city.
DAY 13: FREE DAY IN ESSAOUIRA
Free visit to this ancient town called by the Portuguese in its origin "Mogador", one of the most beautiful coastal cities of the Atlantic of Morocco with its medina and its blue and white colors, its extensive beaches and its walls of ancient citadel of the time Portuguese colonial. DAY 14: ESSAOUIRA - MARRAKECH
In the afternoon, we return calmly to Marrakech with stops along the way. Arrival in Marrakech, transfer to your riad and free afternoon.
DAY 15: MARRAKECH - MARRAKECH
Breakfast and free day (guided tour), to get to know the most important places in Marrakech, a city famous for its Jemaa el Fna square, which will occupy much of your time: an amalgam of unrepeatable aromas, sounds and sensations. The city also has a myriad of places to wander and enjoy: the Majorelle Gardens, the Menara, the Saadian Tombs, walks in the medina or the mellah (the old Jewish quarter), the route of the walls and the modern city (Gueliz) with its western ways of life. DAY 16: MARRAKECH - CASABLANCA
